First Team Member Post, by Nate Whyte

Hi everyone. My name is Nate Whyte.  I am 17 years old and a junior in high school.  I play lacrosse, do triathlons, and run cross country.  I was born in Canada and I am a proud Canadian.  The reason I am going on this trip is because of God’s commandment to us.  In Mathew 28:19, when Jesus is about to go into heaven he tells his disciples to Go and make disciples of all nations and to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  I feel that by going on this mission’s trip, I can bring God’s love to others who may have never even heard his name.  I may even get the chance to lead someone to Christ.  I am a little bit nervous about this trip.  Mostly because I have never been on a mission’s trip and the only other country I have been to is Canada (I don’t expect we’ll be in 20 degree weather in Haiti).  I can’t wait for this trip and I am really excited to get to know all of you guys.  I can’t wait to see God work in people’s lives this summer!
Below I have made a fun list of the top 10 things that I will probably not see in Haiti.
10. Snow
9. Moose
8. Igloos
7. Polar bears
6. Hockey
5. Maple Syrup
4. Beavers
3. Wool sweaters
 2. Touques (also known in the south as toboggans/hats)
 1. Lacrosse
