Never Out of Reach by Nicholas Rhodes

As some already know, I used to be a weekly attendee at the Forest Hill Church in Ballantyne. For about a year my family stopped going, however the first week I had received my license I went straight for those front doors. At the end of the service I had heard someone mention a mission trip in Haiti. Although I was too late to sign up for that one, I knew my time would come. But as the weeks flew by my enthusiasm started to turn into doubt until it was finally announced that another mission trip was to be launched on the upcoming spring break. I immediately went home to persuade my parents into granting me their permission to embark on this astounding voyage which I had heard so much about. I have always found myself being one of the first ready to go out and volunteer, whether it be with the church or through clubs at school, hence naturally this mission trip means a great deal to me. So as these days seem to linger on longer than the last, my anticipation continues to intensify until the day comes to board finally the plane for Haiti.

A Second Trip, by Sam Steyl

I have been blessed with the opportunity to return to Haiti over spring break with the Forest Hill mission team. I am so excited to go back and see the progress that has been made in a year. When I went last year, I had no idea what to expect.  I was excited to learn new things about different people and have experience working for God in a different country. So many things opened my eyes to the different culture and spirit of people who are so in love with God. The Haitians that I met devoted everything they owned to God because they are such loving and true Christians. This year, I look forward to strengthening my relationships with the people that I met last spring break.  I hope that I will have the same powerful experience that I was so fortunate to recieve, and I hope that I will learn more about Haiti as well as about myself. I can’t wait to spend a week in such a beautiful country and spend Easter morning in Haiti where there will be never- ending worship at Church!! J
